Be a Paper Mathemagician by Liz Meenan

Paper folding is a favourite pastime for both children and adults. However paper folding is more than just a creative hobby. It can be used as an entertaining way to learn mathematics, particularly its geometric aspects.

Paper folding is a favourite pastime for both children and adults. However paper folding is more than just a creative hobby. It can be used as an entertaining way to learn mathematics, particularly its geometric aspects. Can you fold a square from 'A' size paper? Can you make Islamic patterns using paper squares, triangles and other polygons? Can you fold a pyramid from an envelope? Can you make a fold-away-in-your-pocket tetrahedron? Come along to this exciting and interactive maths session to find out.
