Jonas Hanway 1712 - 2012 

This talk will explore philanthropist Jonas Hanway's relationship with the Foundling Hospital.


Jonas Hanway was the man who popularised
the umbrella in London. He was also a noted
philanthropist, founding the Marine Society and serving as Governor and Vice President at the Foundling Hospital. To mark the anniversary of Hanway’s birth, this talk by Sarah Warren will explore Hanway’s relationship with the Foundling Hospital.
