Wishful Thinking

The Feminist Theory Journal annual lecture co-hosted by the Gender Institute

By shifting the well-worn question, “what do women want?” to consider instead the wishes that feminist theory enables and sustains, Robyn Wiegman explores the pedagogical challenges and political ambitions of feminist theory today.

Robyn Wiegman is professor of literature and women’s studies at Duke University.

Clare Hemmings is professor of feminist theory in LSE’s Gender Institute.

Jackie Stacey is a professor at the University of Manchester and co-editor of Feminist Theory Journal.
