Back to the Future? US Labour in the New Gilded Age

British Journal of Industrial Relations annual lecture


Against the background of the decline of union power, and the growth of inequality and precarious forms of work, Professor Milkman will explore the recent growth of new forms of labour organisation, with illustrations from the United States.

Ruth Milkman is professor of sociology at the City University of New York of the Joseph F Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies.
