The Brainless Brothers

A free talk on Cibber's famous statues of melancholy and raving madness

A second opportunity to hear the Bethlem Archivist’s talk on Cibber’s famous statues, following a sell-out at Bart’s Hospital last November. What difference have the centuries made to the statues that for 150 years stood at Bethlem’s gates, and what difference have the statues made to representations of Bethlem - and mental health - over the centuries?
