Franklin and Medicine

A lecture on Franklin and scientific interest in medicine and health


Lady Reid will explore the connections between Franklin and medicine. He was an ardent supporter of inoculation, popularised the bifocal spectacles, was one of the first to recognise the effects of lead
poisoning, and invented a flexible catheter to assist those suffering from bladder stones.
