Emma Woodhouse and ‘the Children In Brunswick Square’

Join Professor Laurie Kaplan as she discusses Brunswick Square, the location which opens and closes Jane Austen’s Emma.


Professor Laurie Kaplan also discusses the theme of foundlings throughout the novel. Although a small detail in the novel, Brunswick Square provides a gateway into an exploration the spirit of benevolence and right action that informs Emma.
