A Taste of the New River

Join Peter Berthoud of Discovering London on a new walk and talk tracing the final section of The New River from Canonbury to Angel in its anniversary year.

The New River, built to bring fresh water to London, was officially opened in September 1613. Nearly four hundred years later we will be toasting this incredible feat of engineering at the New River Head.

En route we will learn the history of the New River, stroll through some beautiful parks, meet some extraordinary characters, pause to take on refreshments at a fantastic pub and enjoy each other's company on this celebratory stroll.

The walk lasts roughly 2 hours. It starts at Canonbury station and ends near Angel tube and King's Cross Station.

The walk is fully accessible but there are some inclines, kerbs and narrow pavements, please contact Pete if you want to talk in more detail about accessibility.
