Luis Jacob: In a Material World

WORK presents In a Material World, the first solo exhibition in the UK by contemporary Canadian artist Luis Jacob.

Jacob uses processes of visual association, framing and editing to liberate images and objects from existing systems and draw attention to the conditions of spectatorship. In a Material World explores the concepts of the “look” and the “encounter”. Creating tensions and dislocations of meaning between elements, the exhibition engages with the complex ways in which we relate to the objects around us.

The exhibition coincides with the launch of the new publication Luis Jacob: Seeing and Believing, an illustrated monograph on Jacob’s work by Black Dog Publishing.
