Room&Book: An Introduction to the Art of Bookbinding

To accompany Room&Book Art Book Fair the ICA hosts an introductory workshop

In today’s creative environment, where material is routinely sent in the form of digital files, a handmade book can be an example of purposeful design. To accompany Room&Book Art Book Fair the ICA hosts an introductory workshop offering practical advice and discussing common bookbinding techniques, as well as exploring the art of bookbinding and examples of contemporary book arts.

The workshop will be split into two parts where a panel of speakers including Mark Cockram will introduce their respective approaches and experiences to bookbinding. For the second half of the workshop the panel of speakers will offer advice and feedback to audience members who will be invited to bring in existing book projects.
