Jane Taylor speaks on puppetry

Jane Taylor has written three plays for Handspring Puppet Company including Ubu and the Truth Commission.


Jane Taylor, South African playwright and professor of theatre, will give the 2014 John Phillips Memorial Lecture for British UNIMA. In the world of puppetry Jane Taylor is best known for her work with Handspring Puppet Company for whom she wrote three plays including Ubu and the Truth Commission, revived at this year’s Edinburgh Festival. She also edited the 2009 career-spanning book Handspring Puppet Company and sits on the board of the company. She is a world renowned academic and currently holds the Wole Soyinka Chair of Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Leeds.
