“Is a ‘Christian businessman’ an oxymoron?”

Talk by Mark Hutchinson, Partner to UK and Ireland Advisory at EY

Mark will be sharing his own personal perspective on the
theology of work. Having spent the best part of his early 40’s thinking about what he would do ‘next’ - once he had finished pursuing a career in business, he has since come to understand that his work is not a means to an end, but the end in itself. Some of the questions he will be looking at include:

What does it mean to be ‘called’? Can you be ‘called to work’ in the City?
Can you reconcile the message of Christian love with working in an environment based on the profit principles of capitalism?
How does Christian faith have relevance in the workplace – where you can spend up to 70% of your waking hours during the week?

All are welcome for this free talk and discussion. Fairtrade refreshments to follow.
