In this lecture, psychoanalyst Dr Gohar Homayounpour presents One Thousand and One Nights, a superb example of Bakhtinian, carnivalesque literature, and of marginalized, subversive Persian literature, as a means of searching for lost or repressed images of women within contemporary Iranian discourse.
