Judith Halberstam

The gender theorist Judith Halberstam talks about her latest book "In a Queer Time and Place: Transgender Bodies, Subcultural Lives".


Judith Halberstam is Associate Professor in the Department of Literature at the University of California, San Diego and writes a regular film review column for Girlfriends magazine. She has become one of the best-known gender theorist in our times. She is author of the book "Female masculinity", the first full-length study on this subject, offering a distinctive alternative to male masculinity. Judith talks about her latest book In a Queer Time and Place: Transgender Bodies, Subcultural Lives.
