Rowland Hill and the Penny Black

The BPMA's philatelic curator Douglas Muir will explore the creation of the world's first-ever stamp

When the Penny Black was launched on 6 May, 1840, it sparked a dramatic rise in the volume of mail sent and an industrial boom to cope with the increasing quantity. Join the BPMA's philatelic curator Douglas Muir as he examines the story of the world's first-ever postage stamp, and the man who created it. Wine is included.
