Eric Fassin, who teaches at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris), is a distinguished French public intellectual and sociologist who has written extensively on issues of sexuality in contemporary France and America. His many publications include: Au-delà du pacs (PUF, 1999, with Daniel Borillo) and Liberté, égalité, sexualités. Actualité politique des questions sexuelles (Belfond, Paris, 2004, with Clarisse Fabre). His most recent book, published in 2005, is L'Inversion de la question homosexuelle (Editions Amsterdam).
