Putting A Price On It – How To Value Your Intellectual Property

Your creativity, creative output and ideas are your intellectual property, your most valuable asset and the aspect that can make serious money for your business – but how do you identify what the value of your IP is?
This event will help you value your creative outputs.

Your creativity, creative output and ideas are your intellectual property, your most valuable asset and the aspect that can make serious money for your business – but how do you identify what the value of your IP is?

Customers often ask for copyright and other intellectual property including design, trademark and patents to be assigned, but how do you put a value on this when calculating the price of a job?.

External investors will ask for an equity stake in your business, and for creatives it’s not the product but the creative process or individual that is invested in, but how do you calculate this in the business plan?

And what’s more - In most acquisitions intellectual property and intangible assets are likely to account for a large proportion of consideration. Every business has intellectual property rights, even if they are only in the name under which it trades. Just as importantly, every business uses other people’s intellectual property. Management, institutions, external investors and you obviously need to know the value of what might be the single most valuable asset in your business.

This event will answer your questions and show you how to calculate and put a price on your creativity.

You need to have a basic understanding of intellectual property to benefit from this event.
