Costing the Earth: Peat's Story

Where does our peat come from and at what environmental cost?


Conservation organisations in the UK spend considerable resources protecting and restoring our peatlands, both for the wildlife they contain but also for the water they store. The demand for peat by gardeners and horticulture, however, continues to rise, where does it come from and at what cost?
