An Introduction to...English Furniture 1500-1900

A day long course exploring English furniture from the tudor period up until the end of the Victorian period.

This course will explore the subject of English furniture, considering style, materials and the settings in which pieces were used and displayed. From the Great Bed of Ware to the Great Exhibition, the British Galleries at the Victoria and Albert Museum house an amazing collection of beautiful (and occasionally zany) objects, and will be visited for talks during the day.
