The Bodysnatcher: From Shroud To Specimen

A special Halloween evening talk on the Resurrectionists who supplied anatomy schools in the 18th and early 19th centuries.

As private anatomy schools flourished in the 18th Century, all were faced with one problem: the lack of corpses available for dissection. To provide teaching specimens, even the most respectable of surgeons had the same recourse... On the darkest nights, climbing over the graveyard wall, came the bodysnatcher – his mission? To dig up the bodies of the dead!
