Art, Identity and the Unconscious in the Age of Transnationalism

Film, video and discussion programme organised in conjunction with 'Art, Identity and the Unconscious in the Age of Transnationalism', a conference organised by the Slade School of Art and The Freud Museum,


This film and video programme will explore the ambiguities of transnationalism, and the effects of history and desire in the construction of identity. This screening opens the conference and will include work by David Blandy, Laura Cull, Nicole Hewitt, Rosalind Nashashibi, Penny Siopis, and Alia Syed.

Some of the artists will be available for discussion after the screening.

The conference, which takes place at University College London on Saturday 22 May, will include speakers Kaja Silverman (cultural theorist), Shirin Neshat (artist), Fakhry Davids (psychoanalyst), and others to be confirmed.
