Coronavirus situation update

Our lecture organisers may or may not have had time to update their events with cancellation notices. Clearly social gatherings are to be avoided and that includes lectures. STAY AT HOME FOLKS, PLEASE.

Behind the scenes at the museum

Offers an excellent overview for those considering developing a career in the field, as well as for those with a general interest.

This five-day course gives an introduction to museums. It looks at what they do (or what they should do), and who they are for (or should be for). It looks at how museums engage their visitors and care for their collections. Topics include conservation, documentation and research, putting on exhibitions, running education schemes, museum administration and visitor care. Based at MoDA, the programme includes lectures and workshops by MoDA's staff, talks by external professionals and visits to other exhibitions. No experience is needed, simply an enthusiasm for museums. This course is part of Middlesex University's annual Summer School.
