Screening of Naata (the Bond) and Ekta Sandesh

Dharavi Films@LSE/Centre for the Study of Global Governance event


These compelling films explore community attempts to prevent conflict in AsiaÔs largest slum, Dharavi, encompassing issues of identity, community, migrancy and home. A question and answer session with the directors will follow the screening.

Anjali Monteiro and KP Jayasankar are co-directors of Naata, and are based at the Centre for Media and Cultural Studies, TISS. Ramchandra Korde and Waqar Khan are co-directors of Ekta Sandesh and neighbourhood peace committee organisers in Dharavi, Mumbai.
