John Gerard & His Herbal: Folklore, Wisdom & medicine

Discover John Gerard, one of the most famous herbal writers born in Nantwich 1545


He was a Master of the Barber Surgeons. Find out about medical beliefs in the 16th century, the herbs used for medicines, strewing cooking and dyeing and the folklore and superstition surrounding them. You will also have the opportunity to explore various herbs and apothecarys' equipment and make your own tussie mussie to take away.
