Battle tanks and burial grounds

Archaeology on the Defence estate – An Out of Hours Evening Lecture By Martin Brown

The MOD owns around 1% of the UK landmass, including the large open spaces of Salisbury Plain and major complexes such as Woolwich Barracks.

With many of these sites boasting rich archaeological sites dating back thousands of years, how can the balance of preservation be struck with the needs of the MOD? This talk will discuss the treasures of the Defence Estate and show how defence of the realm has also brought a defence of heritage.

Lecture commences at 19:30 and Museum doors will open at 18:00, giving you an hour to browse through the Museum. Refreshments are also available in our café. Please note that seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Entry fee £10. For tickets and more information, please call 01929 462359.

Season Ticket Offer

This year, we are offering season tickets for our Evening Lectures for £70. This means you get a ticket for every one of our lectures for the equivalent cost of £8.75 each.
