LSE Arts public lecture
Simon Schama's latest book a selection of his writings titled Scribble, Scribble, Scribble, explores, amongst other subjects, Shakespeare, contemporary art, Hurricane Katrina, cheese soufflés, "The Fate of Eloquence in the age of Ozzy Osbourne," Barack Obama and baseball.
Passionate, provocative and entertaining Simon Schama is never predictable - and always stimulating.
This event celebrates the publication of Professor Schama's latest book Scribble, Scribble, Scribble: Writing on Ice Cream, Obama, Churchill and My Mother.
Simon Schama is University Professor of Art History and History at Columbia University. His award winning books, translated into 15 languages, include Citizens: A Chronicle of the French Revolution, Landscape and Memory, Rembrandt's Eyes, A History of Britain, The Power of Art, Rough Crossings and, The American Future: A History. His art columns for the New Yorker won the National Magazine Award for criticism and his journalism has appeared regularly in the Guardian and the Financial Times where he is Contributing Editor. He has written and presented 40 films for BBC2 on subjects as diverse as Tolstoy, American politics and John Donne and won an Emmy for The Power of Art.

Members of the public, LSE staff and alumni can request one ticket via the online ticket request form which will be live on the event weblisting from 10.00am on Wednesday 15 September. LSE students and staff are able to collect one ticket from the LSESU reception, located on the ground floor of the East Building from 10.00am on Wednesday 15 September. |
