What is the Future of Korean Film?

With the success of films like Bong Joon-ho’s Mother, Park Chan-wook’s Thirst or Hong Sang-soo’s Ha Ha Ha, Korean cinema is yet again on a roll in the West. But despite the few festival darlings that make it to the big screen in the UK, is Korean film both at home and abroad plagued by short-termism, dominated by a culture of boom and bust?
