This session will provide an introduction to some of the principles of item writing. Topics covered will include ensuring content and skill coverage, features affecting question difficulty and fairness, and the process involved when a student answers a question.
Getting the exam questions right is important in order to ensure that a test measures the intended knowledge, understanding and skills and is of appropriate difficulty for the candidates to be measured. This session will provide an introduction to some of the principles of item writing.
