Jerusalem: Tales of a City

In this one day special on Jerusalem, Julian looks into the heart of extreme and zealous groups in Jerusalem including, Islamic, Christian and Jewish. This is the condensed version of the 4 evening lectures Julian delivered to great acclaim at Ivy House last June.

1. Neturei Karta and the Chasidim of Toldos Aharon.
2. The many Muslim worlds of Jerusalem.
3. The warring Christian factions of Jerusalem
4. Unexpected and little known Jewish groups of Jerusalem.

What is the future of the city – dangerous powder keg or shining inspiration?

Julian Barnett is a teacher and writer with a specialist interest in ultra orthodoxy within Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. His experiences and travels were serialised in the Jerusalem Report during the years that he was resident in Jerusalem and also broadcast on BBC Radio Four Religion.

"A whole new world has opened for me" said Adrian Naftalin after Julian’s session in June.
