Researching London Ancestors

Free Lunchtime lecture by Jonathan Oates

A free lunchtime talk. Jonathan Oates is the Borough Archivist in Ealing and has a wealth of experience in researching London ancestors. Several case studies will be discussed in this talk, including those of Thomas Smethurst, a doctor accused of poisoning his bigamous wife in 1859, John Christie, of the infamous 10 Rillington Place, and also some rather more law abiding ancestors of the speaker!
