Making Art Public

In recent years coastal Kent has become the focus of regeneration through cultural enterprise. Taking the second Folkestone Triennial and the launch of Turner Contemporary as a starting point this talk will examine the cultural value of site-responsive artistic practice. This talk brings together key players who are shaping today’s thinking about the role art plays in the public domain.
In Folkestone: Triennial Project Coordinator Jennifer Thatcher with artists A K Dolven, Adam Chodzko and Brigitte Orasinski: Strange Cargo. Chaired in Margate by Claire Doherty from Situations and exhibiting artist Ellen Harvey, Director of Stour Valley Arts Sandra Drew and artist Jessica Voorsanger. Making Art Public is in partnership with Turner Contemporary.
