Refugees in the Media: Then and Now

Part of the series 'Headlines and Lifelines: The Media and Genocide', examining the role of the media in the reporting of genocide.


A lecture looking at the depiction of refugees in the media in the 1930s and 1940s and the present day.

Tony Kushner is Professor of Jewish/non-Jewish relations in the Parkes Institute and History Department, University of Southampton. His research interests includ British Jewish history, immigration issues and responses to the Jews.

Gabriela Quevedo is Research and Information Officer at the Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees at Runnymede.
