Commercial lending.
Micro-credit - the commercial lending of small amounts of money to those who would otherwise not have access to credit - seems such a worthy idea and the oft-cited example of the Grameen Bank excites many. However, there are precious few other examples of success. Is micro-credit a concept that can work in Merseyside as well as Maputo? What determines success or failure?
