LSE public lecture
Donald Kohn is a member of the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee which identifies, monitors, and takes action to remove or reduce systemic risks with a view to protecting and enhancing the resilience of the UK financial system. As the former vice chairman of the US federal reserve, Mr Kohn is an expert on monetary policy, financial regulation and macroeconomics.
Prior to taking office as a member of the Board of Governors of the US federal reserve, he was an adviser to the Board for Monetary Policy from 2001 to 2002, secretary of the Federal Open Market Committee from 1987 to 2002, director of the Division of Monetary Affairs from 1987 to 2001, and deputy staff director for Monetary and Financial Policy from 1983 to 87. He also held several positions in the Board's Division of Research and Statistics: associate director from 1981 to 1983, chief of Capital Markets from 1978 to 1981, and economist from 1975 to 1978.
Donald Kohn is a senior fellow in the Economic Studies Program at the Brookings Institution.

This event is free and open to all however a ticket is required. One ticket per person can be requested on Wednesday 31 August. LSE students and staff are able to collect one ticket from the New Academic Building SU shop, located on the Kingsway side of the building from 1pm on Wednesday 31 August. Members of the public, LSE staff and alumni can request one ticket via the online ticket request form which will be live on this weblisting after 1pm on Wednesday 31 August. The ticket request form will be online for around an hour from going live. If after an hour we have received more requests than there are tickets available, the line will be closed, and tickets will be allocated on a random basis to those requests received. If after an hour we have received fewer requests than tickets available, the ticket line will stay open until all tickets have been allocated. Due to changes on the LSE website we can no longer control exactly when a page will update, so it may take a few minutes to appear.
