Creating new species:

The future of man and his dominion over other animals.

Professor Kendrick's lectures have shown that while most human behaviours are similar to those of other species our superior capacities for consciousness and self awareness have given us the intellect and power to exert dominion over them. For many humans, relationships with other animals are important for our psychological and emotional well-being. However, not all species can become our companions or a source of food. Will the power of modern genetics allow us to design other species to provide exactly what we need? Is this really possible and, if so, where will it lead?
