Playing with Numbers: do stats help or hinder in sport?’ a getstats panel debate

Panel members include: Ben Clissitt, Head of Sport at the Daily Telegraph; Claire Taylor MBE, England Cricket team; Dr Ian McHale, Sports Statistician at Salford University and Dr Beverley Hale, Lecturer at the Chichester Centre of Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences, Chichester University.

getstats is a Royal Statistical Society-led campaign which aims to reach out to new audiences (young people, their teachers and parents, elected representatives, employers and the media) - boosting their understanding of numbers. We are already working with partners on a number of different projects and activities in schools, parliament and the media.

Through our event on 20.10.2011 - a lighthearted evening of debate and argument - we will be kickstarting an important new sports-themed thread (and marking 12 months of the getstats campaign).
