Puppetry and Politics

Lecture by Dr John Bell, director of the Ballard Museum of Puppetry and author of American Puppet Modernism


As part of the one-day 'Puppetry and Politics' Symposium at the Suspense London Puppetry Festival, Dr John Bell, director of the Ballard Museum of Puppetry in Connecticut and author of the prize-winning book American Puppet Modernism, will give the annual John Phillips Memorial Lecture at 11.15 am. Other speakers include Gary Friedman, of Puppets Against Apartheid (see www.africanpuppet.com), Jeremy Bidgood of the satirical shadow theatre Pangolin's Teatime, and members of New York's Great Small Works, purveyors of political toy theatre.
