Coronavirus situation update

Our lecture organisers may or may not have had time to update their events with cancellation notices. Clearly social gatherings are to be avoided and that includes lectures. STAY AT HOME FOLKS, PLEASE.

From Maxwell To Higgs

This talk will explore the history of physics from Maxwell to Higgs, and perhaps beyond.

CERN’s Large Hadron Collider experiments (ATLAS and CMS) may be closing in on
the ‘Higgs boson’ particle predicted by Higgs, while the OPERA experiment may be finding that neutrinos travel faster than the speed of light calculated by
Maxwell. This talk will explore the history of physics from Maxwell to Higgs, and perhaps beyond.

A public lecture by Professor John Ellis FRS, Clerk Maxwell Professor of Theoretical Physics, King’s College London.

Chaired by Ian Sample (Science Correspondent, Guardian)
