LSE public lecture
As a young sportsman, Ed Smith thought admitting the existence of luck was just an excuse. He was wrong. Luck is vital in all success - and understanding luck is central to our humanity.
This event marks the publication of his new book 'Luck: What it Means and Why it Matters'.
Ed Smith played cricket for Kent and England and captained Middlesex. After retiring, he became a Times leader writer. He is now a Times features writer, author and broadcaster.
