A special service held in the "Co-op Chapel" to celebrate International Year of Co-operatives, plus small exhibition.
The Mayor and Mayoress, Prof Stephen Yeo, Chairman of the Co-operative Heritage Trust in Manchester, and Simon Danczuk, MP, are to attend a special celebratory Service of Worship at Rochdale Unitarian Chruch on Sunday 13 May at 2.30 pm to mark the International Year of Co-operatives. Rochdale played a distinctive part in laying the foundations for the modern Co-operative movement, and the original Unitarian Chapel which stood on the site of our current building was frequently dubbed the âCo-op Chapelâ because so many of the original pioneers worshipped there. We have pleasure in extending a very warm invitation to be present with us at the Unitarian Church on Clover Street for this special occasion.
