In the second of our two lectures accompanying the very first archaeological dig at York Guildhall, popular local historian Peter Stanhope gives an illustrated talk on A Panorama of Mediaeval York by the Victorian/Edwardian Artist Edwin Ridsdale Tate.
Using digital imaging technology Peter will explore the mediaeval City through this epic work by this well-known York artist and tell the story behind its creation almost 100 years ago. The talk will also be supported by other images of Yorkâs mediaeval buildings by âERTâ from Mr Stanhopeâs extensive collection.
