A costumed walk tracing the militant history of the suffragette movement around London's Westminster area
Our Democratic Heritage will be undertaking a free admission walk on Saturday, July 14th, tracing the historical path of Womanâs Suffrage through the streets of London, from Temple Station to to Parliament Square. Since its inception, Our Democratic Heritage has provided a platform for student projects which focuses on raising awareness of the historical development of British democracy. This project on womanâs suffrage has been written and researched by one of our interns as part of her Masters degree at Royal Holloway, University of London. The walk uses extensively museum collections, archival documents, alongside a range of oral and photographic sources to recreate a significant historical event. This would not only help to raise awareness of an important historical time period, but provide an educational day out for those wishing to explore London's famous Westminster area. This is a free event, all are welcome!
