About Sixteen Degrees Centigrade - Reconditioned:
Singaporean academic and social critic Cherian George writes in his book Singapore - The Air-conditioned Nation that Singapore can be thought of as "the Air-conditioned Nation - a society with a unique blend of comfort and central control, where people have mastered their environment, but at the cost of individual autonomy, and at the risk of unsustainability".
So are other kinds of conditioning necessary in the Air-conditioned Nation? Does living in air-conditioned comfort come with costs? Singaporean artist Paul Lincoln attempts to find answers to these and other questions in Sixteen Degrees Centigrade - Reconditioned.
Taking off from a previous show of the same name held in the National Institute of Education earlier this year, this 'Reconditioned' version exhibits fresh and unseen upgrades with value-added components.
