RIP HIP? Has Period Performance Become an Irrelevance?

Dr Claire Holden, AHRC Research Fellow at Cardiff University, examines the place of period performance in today's culture.

Dr Holden is a violinist with period orchestra The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. She is currently researching lost early nineteenth-century string techniques with a view to transforming how period ensembles play the music of Beethoven and his contemporaries.
