Chasing the Digital Wave: International Lessons for the UK 2015 Election Campaign

This event will explore how digital campaigns around the world have impacted on elections and what the UK can learn.


In a digital age where online applications become verbs - do you tweet? - and where physical actions are deemed offline and out of the loop, how do we adapt to a reality turned on its head? For politicians and campaign teams this is a very real problem. This all day event, organised in association with the University of Manchester, will look at how politicians from around the world have used digital technology to enhance their campaigns and how this has impacted on elections, for better or for worse. A panel of leading academics and practitioners, with experience at the centre of presidential and parliamentary election campaigns, will provide an insight into both the thought behind and the realities within this constantly shifting digital wave.
