Join us to discuss the implications of the BBC crisis and how one can create structures that combine creativity and editorial control more generally in large news organisations.
The management system in the BBC, the relationship between the BBC leadership and the BBC Trust and the responsibility of the Director General for editorial issues as chief editor have all been subjects of recent debate and comment.
This panel discussion will examine a new report by John Lloyd drawing on the implications from the BBC crisis and looking at how one can create structures that combine creativity and editorial control more generally in large news organisations.
With:
John Lloyd, director of journalism at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism & contributing editor of the Financial Times.
Jean Seaton, Professor of media history at the University of Westminster and official historian of the BBC.
Kevin Marsh, director of Offspin Media, former editor of Today and former Executive Editor of BBC College of Journalism.
