London's Lost Pleasures

Discover the sometimes bizarre forms of entertainment that were once part of London life.

In January The Step is launched a new series of evening London talks with Peter Berthoud, a London Guide and Writer. Each month he will be looking at an unusual aspect of London’s history in this relaxed North London cafe, bar and gallery.

The second talk will be on London's Lost Pleasures. Peter will be sharing images of the sometimes bizarre forms of entertainment that were once part of London life. From Georgian rock music to a singing mouse, aquatic dramas to giantic panoramas and all sorts of street based oddities.

The talk will last an hour including an opportunity to ask questions and to look at some rare books. You can also enjoy a drink, meal or a snack during or after the talk if you like.
