Southampton – a centre of wine trade in the middle ages

Susan Rose explores Southampton's role as the centre of wine trade during the middle ages.

Speaker: Susan Rose
Susan Rose’s interest in Southampton began with work on the connection between the town and the King’s ships in the reign of Henry V. She wrote Southampton and the navy in the Age of Henry V in 1998 and worked with Time Team on their programme on Channel 4 on the wreck of the Gracedieu, Henry’s largest ship. Her recent book on the Wine Trade in medieval Europe was published in 2011.
