An immersive, critically acclaimed whirlwind tour of London's original ~ and best ~ coffeehouses in the City with actors, musicians, and Dr Matthew Green.
Can you imagine walking into a Starbucks, sitting down next to a stranger, and asking for the latest news? Youâd be taken for a freak. But 300 years ago, precisely this kind of behaviour was encouraged in thousands of coffeehouses all over London.
Breathe in the musty, smoky air of the London coffeehouse on this immersive guided walk led by London historian and broadcaster Dr Matthew Green with actors and musicians planted along the route.
Is guaranteed to generate a tinge of nostalgia for the literary, convivial spirit of the Georgian coffeehouses as we move forwards into an increasingly virtual world and our high streets are invaded by enormous, tax-evading coffee corporations.
As seen in the Guardian, Telegraph, Londonist, Time Out and on BBC TV and Radio.
