Mystical Bedlam: Spiritualists and Spook-Spotters

A free talk for Museums at Night 2013, looking at "spooky" goings on at Bethlem in the late 19th century


Discover the Victorian interest in hypnotism, psychical research, art and spiritualism in this rare opportunity to visit the historical and art collection after hours. This free talk will give a close look at hypnosis in the late nineteenth century, and Bethlem hospital’s connections with the Society for Psychical Research.

The Bethlem Gallery will also be open late, for the last day of exhibition: Gods, Devils and Dreams.
